I love this shot! It was such a free day on a solo journey, taking the time and enjoying every second to get shots like this. I’ll always remember just after this photo was taken, being freezing cold, soaking wet and filthy having just dredged for miles through the ‘Dead Marshes’ of Arthurs Pass NZ. I make it to the Wobbly Kea Store in Arthurs Pass and with one horrified glance the store lady says to me “Would you like to use our shower!?” Bless her!

There’s nothing quite like a solid death drop into lava kind of hike, with a new boyfriend to firm up the relationship! What can I say, it worked. We’d been together a short 3 months when we trekked the volcanoes of vanuatu. Unbelievable
